Our Mission

Save Dent Fell – Our Landscape, Our Legacy

Our Mission

Dent Fell is more than just a landmark – it’s part of who we are. For generations, it has been the first fell we climbed, the backdrop to our towns and villages, and a treasured part of the Lakeland landscape.

But now, Dent is under threat.

Belltown Power, a Bristol-based renewable energy company, is proposing a 200-acre solar farm on the foothills of Dent Fell – a project that would sit upon our landscape for at least 40 years.

Climbing up to 150m in elevation, the development would be impossible to ignore, visible from Egremont, Cleator Moor, Thornhill, and beyond.

We support renewable energy – but not at the cost of our heritage, our landscape, and our community’s connection to Dent.
